Concrete is a highly popular and versatile material utilized in a variety of applications, from small-scale home projects to larger commercial projects. Methods of Mixing Concrete at Home
The typical options available for mixing concrete at home include using a:
- Wheelbarrow
- Bucket with a drill mixer
- Mechanical mixer (often rented)
- Pouring dry mix in place and adding water
Mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow can be time-consuming and it requires physical effort. Mixing concrete in a bucket with a drill mixer requires less effort but allows only a small quantity of concrete to be mixed at a time. Renting a mechanical concreate mixer is easier but can be costly to rent for each job. Mixing concrete by pouring dry mix in place and adding water from a hose should only be done when no structural considerations are involved. It may be difficult to maintain consistent mixing through this method as well.
