The slowest part of a bagged concrete pour is almost never the pour. It's the mixing. When you're feeding bag after bag into a wheelbarrow or a small drum mixer, batching one load at a time, the concrete waits on you, and your crew waits on the concrete. 1. Pre-Stage Everything Before You Open a Bag

Stack your bags of concrete within a few feet of where you're mixing. Set out your forms, screed, float, and tools. If you're relying on measured water, fill your buckets before you start. Prep saves more time on most jobs than any additive.
